A/V-(으)ㄹ 줄 몰랐다
I had no idea it would …
Used when things turn out differently from what you expected. The stem takes -(으)ㄹ 줄 to package up what would happen, and 몰랐다 says you did not see it coming. The tone carries surprise, which can be delight or complaint. Flip it to -(으)ㄹ 줄 알았다 and it means you assumed it would.

- Swapping in 생각 못 했다 or 상상도 못 했다 makes the surprise stronger: 이렇게 비쌀 줄은 생각도 못 했어요
